However, there are also procedure that you must avoid, for doing these might scare off your subscribers from your list.

One thing that you have to take note of, is to avoid stepping on the law and being in conflict with your ISP or internet service provider. Today, there has been a number of laws and rules established to protect the privacy of Internet users from being invaded by spammers and unwanted mailers. Since almost everyone has their own e-mail address, business has succumb to this marketing strategy as it is effective and low-cost. Hence, they flood the e-mails with promotions and teasers for their products.

In opt-in list, you are safe. People have subscribed to your list, hence you will not be flagged as a spammer. These people who have subscribed to your list, actually want you to send them promotional materials and newsletter. However, you should always put an unsubscribe option at the bottom of your e-mail. There are instances where the e-mail account is in your list but the real owner has no consent of subscribing.

2) You must put an unsubscribe link in e-mails and sites. If one of your subscribers asked for an unsubscribe request, you must take action immediately. When you continue to send them e-mails despite the constant bounces, you are now sending spam messages.

Being reported as a spammer would give you lots of problems to think about. It may be a domino effect as internet providers would start to blacklist you. Also, you will lost the subscribers you have collected.

3) Do not provide pornographic or shocking and disturbing content in your newsletters. It is hard to decipher the age of the recipient and many complaints may stem from these. Controversial issues also are to be avoided to not be branded by your subscribers. Stick to the nature of your site and business.
